Camps & Excursions

Camps and Excursions

Each year students are offered a variety of camps and excursions for each year level.

The year generally kicks off with a Year 7 camp, which helps the new students meet the others in the class and be involved in a range of fun and exciting activities.

Excursions, camps and special activities programs provide experiences such as classroom visits to Scienceworks, Melbourne Zoo, Sovereign Hill, the Shrine of Remembrance or even mountain biking on the You Yangs or indoor rock climbing.

A popular part of our school program is IAW (Integrated Activities Week) where Years 9 & 10 students participate in a week long program where they plan, organise, participate in and then report back to other students. Activities may include Pack and Paddle river trip, “Waves, Wheels and Walls” (surfing, roller blading and rock climbing), Bike Riding, Photography, Street Art, T-Shirt Design and Printing, Recycle Reinvention Clothing Design or even Totem Pole Carving.

We also run a successful Outdoor Education programme, which includes a range of outdoor and physical activities, and a bonus of having the Victorian Sailing School as a campus is that we often use this as a location for excursions for a range of purposes.

One much anticipated trip is the annual Bike Tour held in Term 4. Students also have an opportunity to experience university life at a Deakin Residential Experience camp.
