We hope that everyone in the Newcomb Secondary College community was able to have an enjoyable time over the last two weeks.
Yesterday we had a College Assembly to start the term, to quickly reset the students into a school studying and learning mode after their holidays, with a particular emphasis on our Year 12 students as they commence their final term.
We also recognised that, in the coming weeks, much of C Block will be cordoned off as we begin facilities works for our new Food Technology and Canteen facilities.
Mr Honeywell also congratulated Assistant Principal Shane Elevato who has been successful in gaining the Principal position at Lorne P-12 School (see below). He will commence in this new role from 1st November.
Mr Shane Elevato
I am sure that the whole school community will join with me in congratulating him on his appointment as Principal of Lorne P-12 College.
Shane has been a terrific asset to Newcomb Seconday College over the last (almost)4 years, bringing great drive, insight and energy to support the continuing development (and upwards cycle) of our school. His impact has been clear in a range of College initiatives and functions including Student Learning, College Operations, Transition and Student Support to name a few.
We will miss his input but wish him well.
The September meeting of the Newcomb Secondary College Council took place on the last Thursday of last term. Among the items discussed were the Facilities Developments in C Block that will commence this term and the election promise of further facilities funding.
We also recognised that IBM are coming on board as our newest P-TECH partner
