2019 Orientation for Years 7 to 10 went extremely well last week with all teachers and students following the 2019 timetable.
Orientation Day Year 7 Class of 2019
Tuesday this week we welcomed our Year 7 class of 2019, 97 students joined us for a day of orientation. The day had been planned to give students a range of experiences, as well as meet their class mates and teachers.
Parents are reminded that book lists are due back to school on Friday this week, but orders can be submitted online at www.campion.com.au (by creating an account and using the Newcomb Secondary College booklist code “WW5C”)
The bike tour got away early last Thursday and faced a couple of gruelling days riding uphill with high temperatures and wind. A friendly dairy farmer provided assistance in the form of a swimming pool – how fantastic! One of the many great stories that will come out of the 2018 bike tour.
Final Weeks for Students
The end of year ‘Activity Weeks’ have got off to a great start with supervised activities like board games, basketball, other hall games, and Sing Star which was a hit.
On Wednesday afternoon students will attend a performance called ‘Unapologetically Myself’ by the Nobody’s Fool Theatre group at the Courthouse Youth Arts. This is a free excursion for the first 50 students to return permission forms. NSC students involved in the Nobody’s Fool Program are in the performance. We are very proud of this program which is a successful collaboration between Somebody’s Daughter Theatre, Newcomb Secondary College and BCYF. There are several performance sessions for schools as well as a public performance on Tuesday 11 December @ 7.30pm. If your child does not have a permission note please SMS or call the office to provide permission.
On Friday 14th, all students will be attending Adventure Park for the day. Please ensure that permission notes and payments ($25) have been handed into the office (CSEF funds can be used where available to families). There is no alternative program back at the college on this day.
Year 12 Graduation
We look forward to the Year 12 Graduation Dinner this Wednesday evening in the Brownlow Room at GMHBA Stadium. We are extremely proud of all Year 12 students, both VCAL and VCE, who will gather with their family, friends and NSC staff on Wednesday evening to celebrate the completion of 13 years of education. Tickets have been on sale and are required for this event.
All students, family and friends are invited to attend the 2018 Celebration Assembly at the GPAC Playhouse Theatre in Little Malop Street, on Tuesday 18th December 6.45pm to 8.30pm. Please keep this date free, we would love to see you there!
