BullyZero Presentation

BullyZero Presentation

Posted 23-Jun-2015

On Thursday, 18th June all Year 7 and 8 students participated in a workshop presentation delivered by the BullyZero Foundation.

The mission of the BullyZero Australia Foundation is to provide genuine and enduring care for bullying victims and their families. They exist to identify and empower bullying victims, to support and stand side by side with them, their families and friends in taking action and creating permanent positive change. BullyZero is dedicated and committed to raising awareness of bullying and its devastating consequences through schools, workplaces and the broader community. We aim to empower and provide young people with hands on educational strategies to prevent bullying and work with bullies and their families to help create positive behavioral changes.

Students listened to Oscar Yildiz present some information and they watched a number of confrontational clips that made them think about the impact that cyber bullying can have on one another. We were very lucky to have the Ambassador, Natalia Wissa, who was a contestant on The Bachelor series this year. Natalie spoke to the students about her experience with bullying at school and also her horrible experience with cyber bullying post The Bachelor TV Series. Natalie was able to explain to students the ways in which she learned to tackle this anonymous type of bullying and how she was then able to switch off to this world.

We thank the BullyZero Foundation who delivered the presentation in gratitude for the donation made by students at Newcomb Secondary College after their contribution to the National Day of Action Against Bullying.
